The First World Conference of COPD Patients took place on June 14, 2009, in Rome, Italy. At the conference, COPD patients, doctors, scientists, and public health advocates from around the world came together to discuss how to secure a better life for people with COPD. The First World Conference of COPD Patients was organized by ICC and the European Federation of Allergy and Airways Diseases Patients Associations (EFA), in collaboration with the Associazione Italiana Pazienti BPCO Onlus, the Australian Lung Foundation, the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology, the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD), IPCRG, the World Organization of Family Doctors (Wonca), and in conjunction with the Global Alliance against Chronic Respiratory Diseases (GARD) annual meeting.
