World COPD Day is an annual awareness-raising event, held each November. It is organized by the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD). The event is also supported by ICC and many ICC member organizations around the world participate, organizing educational and awareness-raising activities in their home countries.
World COPD Day 2009 will take place on Wednesday, November 18. The theme of this year’s event will be “Breathless not Helpless!” For more information about WCD activities around the world and to download WCD materials and resources, please visit the World COPD Day Internet Headquarters on the GOLD Website. For World COPD Day 2009 the ICC will be focusing on the COPD Patients’ Bill of Rights that was developed at the First World Conference of COPD Patients in July. Will your organization endorse the Bill of Rights on World COPD Day? If so, please email ICC Executive Director Dr. Larry Grouse with your organization name, contact person and email, and Website address. We’ll post your organization name and a link to your site along with other Bill of Rights supporters.
